THE C 13th WALL PAINTINGS AT ST THOMAS À BECKET, CAPEL AND THE CHAGALL WINDOWS AT ALL SAINTS, TUDELEY, Nr TONBRIDGE, KENT

Location:St Thomas à Becket Church, Church Lane, Capel, Kent TN12 6SX;
All Saints, Five Oak Green Road, Tudeley, Tonbridge, TN11 0NZ

The programme for the day is as follows and members and friends are welcome to come for the whole day or any part thereof:
10.30 for 10.45, meet at St Thomas à Becket to view the C13th wall paintings at the church which is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
Mr Don Foreman, a committee member of the Friends of Capel Church and a member of the local history society will be our guide.
11.45 for 12 noon, go to The George and Dragon, Five Oak Green Rd, Tudeley, TN11 0PW, nearby on the B2017, for a reasonably priced pub lunch in a welcoming atmosphere. (If you would prefer to bring a picnic and should the weather be kind there are several benches at Capel church with beautiful views across the country-side.)
2.30 for 2.45pm arrive arrive at All Saints. At 3 pm Mrs Patricia Dunkin Wedd will show us the famous Marc Chagall windows and explain their history, after which afternoon tea will be served in the church hall next to the church.
4.30pm Evening Prayer


The three locations are close together between Tonbridge and Paddock Wood. Tudeley and the George and Dragon are on the B2017 and Capel is a short distance from it. All have parking. Tudeley church and church hall are wheelchair friendly with a disabled toilet. Capel church is accessible but there is no toilet. There is no disabled toilet at the pub.


We are asked to make a £5 donation per person towards the upkeep of All
Saints church plus a charge of £4.50 for those wishing to have tea and cake. As the church would prefer to have this as one cheque, please make individual cheques payable to G E COMER and George will convert that to a single payment. Payment in advance, please.
