Revd Dr Tess Kuin Lawton

The Revd Dr Tess Kuin Lawton is the (NSM) Vicar of Black Bourton Church and Area Dean of Witney in the Diocese of Oxford. She is also Chaplain and Fellow of Worcester College, in the University of Oxford, where she teaches the 'Religion and Religions' undergraduate paper.

As Fellow, Tess is a Trustee of the College and actively involved in College governance.

She is the author of a book on the healing ministry (The Extra Mile), a chapter on Anglican Forms of Ministry (The Study of Ministry) and a number of academic articles on religious pluralism.

St Mary the Virgin, Black Bourton continues to use the Prayer Book for its regular services of Evensong and daily Choral Evensong at Worcester College uses the BCP.

Tess was chaplain at Magdalen College School for ten years and initiated the Cranmer Awards there, which continue to be a great success. Tess has written on teenage spirituality for the Prayer Book Society’s magazine and for the Church Times, and she has spoken at PBS Conferences on the appeal of the Prayer Book for teenagers.
