Frank Field RIP

Former Labour minister, and crossbench peer Frank Field has died aged 81.

Lord Field was a Vice President of the PBS.

Lord Field spent 40 years as MP for Birkenhead and was a leading voice on welfare reform for much of his career.

He was a minister under Tony Blair and joined the House of Lords in 2020.

Frank was given the brief to “think the unthinkable” in Tony Blair’s first government.

Bradley Smith, Chairman of the PBS described Lord Field’s contribution to the Society as “considerable.” “We send our deepest condolences to Lord’s Field’s family at this sad time.”
