Twenty-four candidates, representing thirteen different dioceses and an online heat, competed in this year's Cranmer Awards Finals, staged in the regal surrounds of the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace.
Supported by family, friends and diocesan representatives, the candidates all receited, from memory, portions of the Book of Common Prayer.
Rosa Smith (Southwark) and Zoe Vogel (Sodor & Man) were the winners of the Junior and Senior competitions respectively. You can see their winning performances below.
"All the candidates were fabulous, and very, very brave," said the Chair of the Junior judging panel, The Hon Mary Pearson. "These beautuiful words that you have learned are poetry and they call on our courage, our hope, our perseverance and our faith."
The Revd Josh Gaskell, Chair of the Senior Judges said, "I know many life-long churchgoers, priests and bishops, who could not have done what you have done today."
The Cranmer Awards return in 2027 when the final will be staged in York.
