This morning, pilgrims drove into the Judean wilderness for a visit to Qumran (where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered), and Herod's desert fortress of Masada. On this exceptionally hot day, pilgrims enjoyed the opportunity to float in the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea.

Healing and reconciliation were the themes of this afternoon's teaching ministry. Bishop Michael spoke about Cranmer's understanding of confession and absolution, and reminded us of the tools provided by the Prayer Book to help us deal with the issue of sin.

We then prayed the much-neglected Commination service, received prayer for healing and wholeness, and celebrated Holy Communion in this most wonderful setting. It has been an uplifting day of worship, teaching, and fellowship in the most extraordinary places.
