Owing to a nationwide rail strike on Saturday, 8th October, we have, with very great regret, decided to postpone our 50th anniversary celebrations at Westminster Abbey. We are now working closely with the Abbey and Church House to find a suitable date for our national celebrations in 2023.
We have organised an event on a smaller scale to be held at St James', Garlickhythe on 8th October.
11.00am Sung Communion. Preacher: The Bishop of Southwark
12.30pm Buffet lunch: donations invited on the day
After lunch, there will be a talk by the Revd Tim Handley; this will be followed by Evensong.
Anyone wishing to take lunch is asked to
contact us ASAP and by Monday, 3rd October at the very latest.
The London Underground is not affected by the strike, however trains will be busier than normal. St James' church is located very close to Mansion House tube station (exit at Garlick Hill).
We are deeply sorry for the disappointment that the postponement will bring to many members and supporters, and we are grateful to our friends at St James' for making this event possible at very short notice.
