In the Footsteps of St Paul

Walk where Saint Paul walked — from the Roman port of Thessaloniki to the Areopagus of Athens — retracing the Apostle's mission to the heart of ancient Greece.

This second pilgrimage organised by the Prayer Book Society, follows the journey described in chapters 17 and 18 of The Acts of the Apostles, through the great cities of Macedonia and Achaia.

It will visit the very places Paul preached, baptised and debated — Philippi, where Lydia became the first Christian convert on European soil; Thessaloniki, where he was received in the house of Jason; and the Areopagus of Athens, where he proclaimed the Unknown God to the philosophers of his age.

Along the way our pilgrims will visit the soaring Meteora monasteries, the sacred sanctuary at Delphi, and the ancient city of Corinth, where Paul spent two years founding the Church.

Worship and reflection are woven through every day.

Our guide will be Father Benjamin Drury. He is senior chaplain of St Paul's Anglican Church in Athens — the church that bears Paul's name. Benjamin brings a deep knowledge of Pauline history and Greek Christian tradition to every step of this journey.

The eight day pilgrimage, organised by travel specialist McCabe’s, will depart from London on Tuesday 11 May 2027.

Book before 31 July 2026 for a £100 discount per person for the trip.
